Z LEAGUE

2024 Spring Season

• Commences 9 September 2024 with trials to be held 2 September 2024 (refer to Z-League page)

• Games are played on Monday night's at PCYC

• 9 weeks of regular season games, in addition to 1 week for Grand final

• Grand final game of 1 v 2, no other finals to be held

• Uniform will be supplied by the Association

​Teams/Draft

• Sub-Committee will select Captains prior to the 1st scrimmage

• After 1st scrimmage session the draft will be conducted

• At the draft Captains selection order will be drawn from hat

• At the draft players are selected as follows:​

Round 1

​

• Captain 1 - 1st pick

• Captain 2 - 2nd pick

• Captain 3 - 3rd pick

• Captain 4 - 4th pick

Round 2

​

• Captain 4 - 5th pick

• Captain 3 - 6th pick

• Captain 2 - 7th pick

• Captain 1 - 8th pick

​

• That order is repeated until draft is complete

• All Trades must be approved by both Captains and subcommittee

• Final Trades must be approved before the commencement of game 5 of the competition

• Fill in players will be graded by the subcommittee and allocated a Tier Level

• Fill in players are allowed if

  • the team will have <5 players on the court

  • they are currently registered with Basketball NSW as a Wagga player

  • they pay the applicable night fee calculated (refer player fees)

  • they are the appropriate tier level of the

    • Captain Team Pick 1 & 2 = Tier 1 – replace with a Level 1 or 2

    • Captain Team Pick 3 & 4 = Tier 2 - replace with a Level 3 or 4

    • Captain Team Pick 5, 6 & 7 = Tier 3/junior – replace with a Level 5 or 6

​Competition Fees

Competition player fees will be set at $160.00 per individual.

 

Competition fees are payable when joining a team via the online process through Basketball Connect.

PCYC Membership

All competitions and programs are played at the new PCYC stadium and all participants will be required to have PCYC membership. An adult membership is $30 per year and a junior membership is $15 per year. These can be purchased at https://www.pcycnsw.org.au/wagga-wagga. Alternatively, if you have multiple children or have other family members that would also like to join, PCYC is running a family membership promotion in Feb/Mar. Please enquire at PCYC reception for current pricing.

​Basketball NSW Membership

ALL individuals intending to play in our senior competitions must be registered with Basketball NSW or one of its affiliates. No player will be allowed to take the court under any circumstance prior to being registered. ​

SENIORS (18+ YEARS) = $93.00

​JUNIORS (12 TO 17 YEARS) = $78.00​

New members – if you are registering for the first time once you have completed a membership form, agreed to the terms and conditions and paid the relevant fees your membership is valid for 12 months from the date of registration.
 

An existing member renewing within 30 days - If you renew your membership within 30-days of it expiring, your new expiry date is 12 months from the previous expiry date.

An existing member who renews after 30 days - if you renew your registration after 30-days of it expiring, your new expiry date is 12-months from the date you have completed a registration form, agreed to the terms and conditions and paid the relevant membership fees.
