Junior Competition - Female Participation Program
15 July 2023
For a number of years we have struggled to attract and retain female participants. This season Wagga Basketball have put in place some incentives to try to increase participation in our sport.
Blazing Hoops Program (Under 10 Girls)
The aim of this program is to encourage young girls to try out basketball within a structured and fun environment. It is hoped that this program will assist in boosting future numbers for both local competition and representative programs.
The program will consist of 7 weeks of structured training and 7 weeks of competition. All training sessions will be programmed by the Wagga Basketball Coaching Coordinator with the assistance of identified team coaches.
Registration is free, but participants will need to pay the BNSW membership fee if they aren't already a member. Kids joining from Aussie Hoops are free for the first 12 months and existing players would already have a membership.
The program is for girls born in 2014, 2015 or 2016 and will be limited to 42 participants.
